White House principles according to document obtained by Politco:

http://www.politico.com/f/?id=000001...e-ff3d27fb0000

Quote:
The summary of the immigration principles does not lay out whether Trump will insist that all of the policy demands must be included in any legislative package that codifies the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, for people known as "Dreamers," into law. The list could alienate Democrats and even many Republicans.

Doesn’t sound like he wants all of these things in exchange for the Dream Act. Just seems like things he wants passed during his presidency.

Notably no veto threat from senior adm officials when asked if they’d demand these policies in a DACA deal. via @samstein

Before we had President Bannon, now it's President Miller. He wrote this shit

From another source:

Quote:
While Democrats have signaled an openness to some deal on DACA and border security, many of the proposals alone would be deal-breakers. Democrats are almost certainly needed to pass a bill to clear the filibuster threshold of 60 votes in the Senate and to make up for Republicans in both chambers who may decline to vote for any path to citizenship or legalization for DACA recipients.

What will be key, one Democratic congressional staffer said, is how hard the White House pushes for the wish list.

"Depends on whether they're serious or just positioning," the staffer said. "If it's the latter, and they leave themselves a lot of room to move, then maybe we can still negotiate something. The problem is that they could lock themselves in politically and then not be able to bend."

And another source:

Quote:
A White House official told Reuters on Sunday the principles were a guide for the legislative process it hopes Republicans and Democrats will take up.

“Funding for the wall is a priority for the administration. Whether it is part of DACA or there is a different pathway to get it done, it will remain a priority,” he said, adding it would be up to Trump to determine what was negotiable and what was not in a future deal.

The official said the White House would be pushing for “legal status” for the Dreamer population but would not be advocating for citizenship.

"The official said the White House would be pushing for “legal status” for the Dreamer population but would not be advocating for citizenship."

pushing for legal status is a very big thing with this administration, they are literally giving amnesty with that push and about citizenship provision, it also could be read that they are not ruling it out, they just wont push and advocate for it.

but them Stephen Miller anti-immigration provisions they want is a killer though for any deal..

FUUUU, seems so close but yet so far!

Ugh I hope none of this is a must.

Found this tweet:

@laurenegambino
Senior administration official on the WH call referring to #DACA recipients: "We are not interested in granting citizenship."

Probably! I don't know who I hate more Miller, Bannon, or Sessions.

Pelosi and Schumer released a joint statement. There's going to be a lot of pushback on thist:

Quote:
“The Administration can’t be serious about compromise or helping the Dreamers if they begin with a list that is anathema to the Dreamers, to the immigrant community and to the vast majority of Americans.

“We told the President at our meeting that we were open to reasonable border security measures alongside the DREAM Act, but this list goes so far beyond what is reasonable.* This proposal fails to represent any attempt at compromise.

“The list includes the wall, which was explicitly ruled out of the negotiations.* If the President was serious about protecting the Dreamers, his staff has not made a good faith effort to do so.”

So how many months we got left? Seems like nothings getting done.. why is it so hard to pass shit, even for American people, not even talking about DACA just regular stuff for Americans they can't even pass and always try to fuck people up.. it's just so depressing and infuriating.
