“Breaking Bad” actor Bryan Cranston, notably outspoken against then-candidate Donald Trump, recently changed his tone, calling out those who don’t support the current president.

“President Trump is not the person who I wanted to be in that office, and I’ve been very open about that," Cranston said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Monday. "That being said, he is the president.

“If he fails, the country is in jeopardy. It would be egotistical for anyone to say, ‘I hope he fails,’” Cranston said. “To that person I would say, f--- you. Why would you want that? So you can be right?”

The actor, currently promoting Vietnam War-era movie “Last Flag Flying,” said he doesn’t want Trump to fail. "I don’t want him to fail," Cranston argued. "I want him to succeed. I do. I honestly do."

“If you’ve got a good idea that helps the country, oh man, I’m gonna support you,” Cranston said. “I don’t care if you’re a Republican and I’m a Democrat or whatever, I don’t care.”

He added: “We’ve got to get away from this idea that our country is a political football, and someone with a different opinion is the enemy. Assume they love this country as much as you do, and there’s always room for improvement. How can we make it better?”
Well said.

I don't get it either. But unfortunately that's the world of politics that we live in. Just ask Mitch McConnell when he said "his number one priority was to make Obama a one term president."

Everyone is either a Democrat or a Republican. Americans have forgotten how to be Americans. It's like John F. Kennedy once said..

"Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future."

I don't want him to fail, I want him gone because he is destined to fail.

Trump wants to get rid of Obamacare, remove environmental protections, destroy the progress on LGBT rights, and give a tax cut to the wealthy among other things. These are his goals. Wanting Trump to succeed in reaching his goals is the same as wanting to end access to affordable healthcare for millions of Americans, rolling back environmental protections, making life harder for LGBT people, and widening the wealth and income inequality in this country. I think Bryan Cranston means that we should want Trump to make this country a better place. And I don't disagree with that. But for him to succeed in making this country a better place, in my eyes he'd have to do the exact opposite of what he wants to do in a wide variety of issues. I think what I really want to see happen is for Trump to change. I'm glad he has come around on DACA, but unfortunately, he has remained stubborn when it comes to other important issues.

Well fuck you too Walter. The president is not the country. We had them assassinated and otherwise die in office and Nixon resigned. If Trump is dragged out in handcuffs sun will still rise tomorrow with whoever is left standing in line of succession acting as president.

I understand where he is coming from but due to this policies, overall Trump succeeding amounts to putting the country in Jeopardy, not the other way around. Specifics are important in this argument, succeed at what? passing the Dream Act, sign me up. Screwing up minorities and providing tax breaks for the wealthy? get out of here.

I like Walter White but this doesn't really have anything to do with The Dream Act
