What is going to happen if McCain wins? I was so concentrated on the fact that there was no way a republican could win, the economy being the way it is, but today I though "well what if McCain DOES win?" I'm kinda worried, what are the chances of our situation improving with him in office? What are we going to do if instead of things improving, they worsen? sorry if I sound negative, im panicking right now... lol

If nothing passes in 2009 then we are all screwed. I used to be very optimistic about things but not anymore.

If McCain does win, then McCain wins...

He supports CIR, (as you should know), but of course he wants to secure the borders first.

On the other hand, just because a democrat were to get elected doesn't mean anything will happen.

Do you have something against republicans?

Heh,in McCain's "Vision" speech he talked about immigration including "Dealing with those here humanely"[=Legalization],which was focused around 2013.

Anyway,[barring no major mistakes] I think we'll get a President Barack. There has also been some early polling that suggest Democrats could pick up another 30 seats or so in Congress & a possible filibuster-proof Senate. However, the notion of more Democrats=automatic immigration reform should not be accepted by anyone, since the last election cycle taught us that lesson.

I'm not that worry about who's gonna be the next president because in the end Obama, McCain and even Nader are with us. I'm worry about the Senate and House races.

If Mccain wins, what i see happening is at least years of failed attempts to secure the border with the immigration issue being put in the back burner just exploding and getting worse.

well, keep up that optimism there mate. I read an article stating an immigration reform is unlikely to occur this year due to a presidential election; those candidates will mention them as baits, nothing more. I can assure you though, by 2010 or the latest, by 2011, an immigration reform will become reality. This country cannot go on w/o another amnesty. It just has to be done.
