Who here has filled this one out? Apparently this is similar to FAFSA but its just state aid not federal and is for non-citizens or ineligible non-citizens. I spoke to some lady and she said that it's not that much what they give but I just want to know, whoever has gotten it, about how much of your tuition did it cover and if it's a college or university?

I'm just trying to learn more about this TASFA thing, I really want to transfer to a University once I get my basics done so please write anything about it here...

i go to university of houston but really didn't try to sign up any tasfa because i didnt know about it till after i started. I dont know how much they would give personally, but i heard it is around 2500 on average for a public university, but below 1000 for community college.

also i guess this website would help http://www.collegefortexans.com/fafsa/ it says fasfa but also has applications and info for tasfa.

To questionsihave: How are you paying for your tuition at Univ. of Houston? through scholarships and financial aid?

I got one of these applications but then I got so confused because I don't have an ITIN. Do you have one? If not, what did you do? Leave it blank. Keep me posted as well. Thank you.

I filled out a TAFSA my freshman year, and I just turned one in for my upcoming junior year. It's a pretty basic straightforward form that you can find on the college for texans website.

I go to the University of Houston Main, and freshman year, I only got a few hundred each semester from the TAFSA, but it was better than nothing. I wasn't able to file my sophomore year b/c of tax issues, but I'm hoping this year I'll get a lot more, since UH is raising tuition by 6% (again!)

Oh yeah, and tuition and fees at UH have run me b/t $4000 - $5000 a semester approximately. Um, if you have any other questions, fill free to ask.

Wow what scholarship did you get? sorry if i'm asking a lot of questions. I'm surprised nobody had mentioned TASFA here.

I don't mind, it was a academic scholarship of 4500 per year for 4 yrs. It leaves me with like 1000 or so to pay each semester so its pretty good.

If you are trying to go to UH look at their scholarships and see if you can get one, they have increases the amounts you get since it got in, my 4500 is now 5500 for the requirements you need.

I didn't know we could get academic scholarships that's pretty cool! does that cover just tuition? so you still need to pay room and board and books and other fees?
