Hello,

Anyone here successfully lease a car with the dealer before? My financial application was rejected by dealer's financial service and they are asking for my Visa or Green Card which i don't have. Anyone have any experience in leasing a car?

I've bought two cars from dealers before and never been asked for my status. All they needed was my drivers license and car insurance.

Some do ask.

Get a pre approved loan from your bank or credit union. You should be doing hat anyway with or without a GC. Dealers rape you and your credit score by running it 10 different times. No thanks!

I purchased a car in 2015. Had a local credit union approve me for $30K but I got a pre owned fully loaded Honda Accord for less than $20K so I went with that. I had already checked out the car online. Went there saw the car in person, test drove, asked for car fax/mechanic worksheet (I got it from a Honda dealership), showed them the pre approved paper and walked out with the car in less than an hour.

My bad- just realized your title said lease. Yeah, I got no idea. Unless you own your business and can write it off on your taxes (iffy with the new tax law) I think leasing is a waste of money. It’s like renting an apartment. No equity.

I've leased cars without any issues (no questions asked), I found that the best ones are luxury dealerships (BMW,Mercedes, Porsches, and etc.) Mass market car dealers often gave me the problems regarding residencies.

Since you mentioned leasing, please don't forget to consult www.leasehackr.com, I also have dealership connections if you are located in SoCal.

I did some homework from leasehackr and got a really good deal with BMW but end up having issue regarding residence.

I had that same issue at the Mercedez dealership. I told them I had daca , but they wanted a co sponser was related to me before they approved my loan. I had no one to go to so I ended up putting down a hefty down payment before they finally gave me the loan. The manager told me that since I’ve been approved once, Mercedez will always give me an easier time in case I want to get another car from them in the future.
