“Why can’t we reach a deal on daca? Because trump insistence on a complete ineffective and absurdly expensive border wall as part of any deal”.

This is so extremely frustrating to me. It appears to me that Democrats don't an actual wall but are ok with border security. It also appears to me as if Republicans don't actually care about the actual wall either, but just want border security.

In summary, both sides agree on added border security.

Were the sides differ is on the branding of said border security. Republicans (really just Trump and hard right wingers) want this added border security to be marketed as a wall so that they can get a win with their base. Democrats don't want it to be marketed as a wall so that they don't catch a loss with their base.

So in essence we are fighting over semantics while real people suffer real consequences. I can't really blame the Republicans because they have always been honest about where they stand on immigration. We can, however, blame Democrats because they refuse to compromise on semantics over politics and thus are hurting real people.

I agree! Democrats are playing games for a midterm election win. In the end if are status expires and they can blame repubs for it, democrats wud do that rather than helping us.

But Trump is dead serious about the Wall. No Wall or No DACA.

And urge your US citizen relatives to vote for GOP candidates in retaliation.

Not true. Trump has himself has defined 'wall' very loosely before. He insists on using the word 'wall' because it is a campaign promise he made to his base, and he wants to deliver on the 'build that wall' slogan/chant. However, he isn't hung up on the wall being an actual wall, as long as there is something he can call a 'wall'
