Work continues behind the scenes to avoid a gov’t shutdown & secure a spending caps deal. DACA also part of the mix. Gov’t funded thru 11:59:59 pm et Thursday
I’m sure today is going to be another busy day of news. Maybe we can keep everything on one thread for today?

@E2visaDREAMER
Today, a Senate aide said Senators are scared to add #E2VisaDreamers, even though they support us, because we could be a "poison pill."

Legal DREAMers (E2, H4, etc) are another issue that appears to be a problem.

Yeah, sure, add them on too. Not like anyone's getting relief.

I'm with this guy. I've been attempting to see the light on all this but lately it doesn't seem likely that we will get relief.. We'll just get the shaft as usual.

Easy there cowgirl, it's too soon to tell so I wouldn't jump the gun just yet.

It's not anything new. Whether to include them has always been part of the DREAM Act discussions. On one hand they did grow up here. On the other hand they have a lot of other opportunities that we don't have - no 10 year ban, apply for student visa, etc. Anyway I don't think there's any reason to worry; I don't see the Democrats pushing to include them.

Pelosi: The budget caps agreement includes many Dem priorities..because the package does nothing to advance bipartisan legislation to protect Dreamers in the House. Without a commitment from Ryan comparable to the commitment from McConnell, this package does not have my support

Hopefully Pelosi can get an agreement from Paul like Schumer got from Mitch! That's all we need now.

Hopefully!

@chadpergram
The key to the entire budget caps/gov’t spending conundrum is Democratic support in the House to make up the difference with GOP defections. If Pelosi doesn’t support the pkg because there is no deal on DACA, well...
