Hardly encouraging but glad to see somebody stilling asking the questions.

President Donald Trump is "encouraging" Congress to "get something done" on DACA before Monday's deadline, despite the Supreme Court's refusal to immediately hear the administration's appeal of federal injunctions to end the program, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Tuesday.

"That's why he laid out exactly what he expected to see in a proposal that would not only help solve the DACA problem but also provide border security," Sanders told reporters at the daily briefing. "The president went above and beyond.

"It's sad that Democrats aren't willing to come to the table, get something done and do their job.

"The president is still hopeful and we'll continue pushing forward," she said.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has set a March 5 deadline for ending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, affecting as many 700,000 young illegals who were brought to the U.S. as children.

On Monday, the Supreme Court refused to take the unusual step of bypassing a federal appeals court and grant fast-track review of the trial judge's decision.

The court's rebuff leaves open the possibility the justices could consider the case later, after an appeals court in San Francisco hears it.

The high court's rejection buys time for "Dreamers" even as Congress has been unable to agree on legislation to give them permanent protection.

Earlier this month, the Senate blocked three proposals that would have shielded the aliens.

When asked what happens on Monday, when the deadline comes, Sanders said: "We're still hopeful that something happens on this and Congress will actually do its job."

He's desperate for that wall. Hopefully he drops that chain migration demand and it ends up being legalization+ border security.

Seems like they're trying to get everything done at the last minute.

Damn. I didn't realize March 5th was upon us. Since that first week of February, there has not been much excitement on DACA.

I hope we get some type of relief soon. I hope we can reignite the momentum we had a few months ago.

Technically, the terminology was used right.

Alien - A foreigner, especially one who is not a naturalized citizen of the country where he or she is living.
