Dreamers,

I just came to realized by several people telling me this over time that my first impression of myself is not taken well in a social setting. Not when you introduce yourself, but rather after when you are in a social event.

People have told me that I look like I have a big ego and I think I am better than anyone else because I keep to myself and do not socialize to other people. Honestly, I am a shy person and I do not socialize easily unless I know you. Also, I was told my face expression always look like I am serious or tough, and I barely crack a smile. Hence by me keeping to myself or me being quiet people dislike me and judge me.

I guess growing up in the hood made me have a serious face and I don't just go and talk like a parrot to other people.

How is your first impression persona or the way you act in a new social setting?

My wife tells me the same thing, that I look mad and that I look too serious. Thing is, like you said growing up in the hood taught me not to show any emotions.

I probably act the same way you do but honestly I just can't relate to most people anymore. I can't do small talk with anyone anymore.
