"So are you a citizen"?

What if your work colleagues or boss ask you that?

What do you answer?

If you answer that you are on DACA, what if they say "so you are illegal"?

If asked this question i think i will put myself in really bad situation.

I am a really bad liar. I cannot lie.

Over the years I’ve become a good liar. Just make up a story in your head and believe it.
If you believe your lie, they will believe it too. Sometimes I forget if something I said was a lie lol
They shouldn’t be asking that anyways

Just say you’re a immigrant. They don’t really know how the immigration system works to be able to ask you specifics.

"I am a legal resident"

My parents brought me here when I was 6 months old. I’ve been lying my whole fucking life. Everyone assumes that I was born here in the U.S. so I just go with it.

I just answer that I have a work permit. The problem is when the question is being asked by a legal immigrant. Usually they have malicious intentions.

Long as it isn't hr checking for work permit, folks shouldnt be asking. If they are, I personally come up with whatever I want. If it's easier I just say I'm a citizen, most times, I say a legal resident. I grew up Christian, so it was really difficult to lie in the beginning. But, it is what it is. I'm only truthful to people who matter, otherwise, it's easier to just lie if there's no real reason to tell the truth. Like a work friend who who happens to be talking about the subject.

This question becomes specially difficult to answer when asked by an H1B or other work related visas. I usually just say, I have a work permit. But i dont require sponsorship. They usually ask follow up questions at which point i just say, its complicated, and I dont like to talk about it. That usually stops the questions. If it doesn't, I just ignore them. Talk about other things.
