* The 245i was the provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act that permitted persons who were not in status, entered without inspection or worked without authorization to adjust their status while remaining in the United States.

*The alien would pay the INS a penalty fee of $1,000.00 to adjust their status in the U.S

*Be the beneficiary of a Form I-130 immigrant visa petition ("Petition for Alien Relative").

*245i expired on January 14, 1998.

This BS is one of the reasons why I was denied; and I'm married to a USC who is serving in the military about to re-enlist for 6 years so I can use the new GI Bill. Congress do NEED to fix laws because they are a JOKE!

I HAVE HOPE!!!
