It seems that a lot of features in this website are inaccessibile at this time like the Advocacy and Today page. I don't even see the National Calendar on the sidebar anymore.

I broke the server on accident, I didn't expect it to accept a ridiculous value on the calendar. Normally you are supposed to check user input for reasonableness.

First thing I noticed was that it accepted ridiculous year dates, like the year 2040, which it accepted with no problem.

Then my mind got to thinking... so it makes a record for each day until X day, surely there is a limit.

I set to make an event on the calendar every day until the year 5000, and according to my back of the napkin calculations it made about 1 million records. Compound it with the 300 lines of test data to see if the form would kick out too large of data, and well I made a perfect storm that I did not expect to work.

364 days multiplied times 3000, plus about five thousand bits of data for each one. Then it loads the calendar for each user, pulling in the data, so on each user it had to grind through 1 million records just to load the page and get an accurate calendar.

I offer to clean up any damage I may have caused, cause I am truly sorry and I did not intend to break someone's website.

A desire stemming from exploration, and a need to test boundaries, and also I have testing skills that are going underutilized.

I certainly did not mean to break the server, and any future exploits will be sent in for correction first, my sincerest apologies.

I want to be very clear: I'm not looking for any future exploits, utilize your testing skills elsewhere.

I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out what happened, and I have to waste more time still to clean up after your actions.

The site may have issues, but people still find it valuable. I and others have put in a ton of work to create this place and to keep the community running. I'm sorry your skills are underutilized, but that does not make it OK to come here and purposely try to break things.

DJM: I’m sure you’ve noticed that I’ve laid off from messing with you recently (pretty busy with life and my 6 figure job) but if you wanted to test your skills, you could always just try to hack into uscis and make yourself a US citizen.
