What was the best gift you have gotten for her birthday -- whether its DIY or purchased?

I tell you what NOT to do...don't go to the outlet GAP and get a size 8 shirt for your girl who is a size zero causing your girl to go to the regular mall GAP to exchange it only to be told that it was purchased from the outlet store and can't be exchanged and embarrassing the hell out of her.

I assure you there was no laughing from her part. In my defense, I was in my 20's, worked 12 hour days and went to school and barely made ends meet, and was kind of a dumbass about perception and politics of what girls like to brag about their boyfriend.

In her circle of friends, girls would brag about the new LV purse they bought or if so and so bought a BMW, etc...super materialistic and superficial things even though they were working class too but if I could go back and change one thing it would be to play the game a little more and don't try to keep it real so much. It's like in Pulp Fiction with pride.

Anyhoo...tip for OP, play the game a little and don't let pride fuck with you. Be a complete tool if that's what will make her and her dumbass friends happy.
