Tonight we saw Trump take our government hostage demanding to get billions more to advance his white nationalist agenda. Republicans enabled Trump’s shutdown, caved to his tantrum, and put Trump’s demands ahead of the wellbeing of millions in our nation.

Now it is up to Republicans to clean up the mess they’ve made. And it is up to us to make sure those who already voted once against giving Trump $5.7 billion more, continue to stand strong. They must not accept any deal that gives Trump any more money, neither $5.7 billion, nor $1.6 billion– not one dollar more. But they need to hear from you and me to know that we support them and want them to hold strong!

Because Trump shut down the government, one of the best ways for us to contact members of Congress right now is to simply tweet at them. This is urgent. Members of Congress, both Democrats and Republicans, must reject any deal that gives in to Trump’s demands. Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda has killed DACA and TPS protections, has ripped children out of the arms of their parents, tear gassed families and children at the border, killed Claudia, Jakelin and too many more. Now Trump has shut down the government without regard for the workers who will be affected. And let’s be clear, there’s no difference between a border wall and a border fence. And our communities are not their bargain chips. That’s why we cannot allow Congress to give Trump more money and enable him to do even worse.

UWD and all other “activist” organizations would love for immigration to never ever get a solution. This is their paycheck we’re talking about here. They make money off our backs!

Congress can offer them immigration reform with no enforcement and they will still find something to whine about. They’re the type of people to want completely open borders which we know that’s never going to happen.

Anyone that’s dumb to donate to these organizations should get a reality check!
