Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) said Sunday he's "reasonably optimistic" bipartisan negotiations in the upcoming weeks will produce a successful result to fund the government and secure the border.

Blunt, who will serve on a bipartisan conference committee of Senate and House lawmakers to discuss border security funding, said on "Fox News Sunday" that he believes the end of a 35-day partial government shutdown will spark more productive negotiations that will give all parties what they're looking for.

I hope Trump supports whatever solution comes from this committee. It's kinda pointless if he rejects anything he doesn't think is ideal.

Same. I hope Miller accepts the solution or Trump realizes he needs to fire him

Funny thing is I haven’t heard any Senate Democrats coming out to say anything about dreamers in these negotiations. Only republicans have been mentioning us so far . They key question is are democrats willing to get something for us out of these negotiations?

Blunt said he was "reasonably optimistic" something could get done.

Durbin blamed Trump for the shutdown, and called for a "new bipartisan rule which guarantees we will never face this again."

Durbin and Blunt, from different sides of the ideological spectrum, have long sought a permanent resolution of the legal status of "Dreamers" — young people brought to the United States illegally as children. It is unclear yet if any proposed agreement would include an attempted resolution on that front, but it could be one of several larger questions in the immigration reform debate that plays into the debate calculus between now and mid-February.

Being cautiously optimistic. But it seems like Congress is FINALLY going to take some sort of action on a Border Security + Legalization (Hopefully for more than just Dreamers!). Kushner is playing a phenomenal hand here and Trump has finally trashed Ann Coulter and Co. But I think Dreamers are surely going to be getting a permanent fix any time now.
