Hi all,
I recently started looking into buying property. I was working with a lender who just informed me that any loan underwritten by Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac is basically out of the question for me because of my DACA status. Has anyone here had experience with other options (private banks, credit unions, other organizations) that could finance a first time homebuyer mortgage?

Thanks so much for the help!!

That's poppycock. You can get a Fannie Mae loan. Look at this link here Ask an Underwriter, Does the American Dream of homeownership apply to DACA recipients?

Here's more info, this talks about FHA loans Ask an Underwriter, Are Dreamers eligible for FHA loans

Some here can post their mortgage lenders and their experiences

I was able to get a home loan with DACA that wells fargo bought out before I even made my first payment.Wells wont even give us a credit card so its funny how they actually bought my loan out. I would say go to a mortage company with loan officers and explain that you have DACA and they should be able to find you a loan with a bank.

Hi there!
That seems bogus. I recently purchased a property in NYC last October and my mortgage was underwritten by Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. I was assured by my broker that as long as you have a good credit, enough for a down payment and can afford your monthly mortgage and expenses there shouldn't be any issues. What state are you based out of?

Thanks everyone! Here’s the most recent link about this debacle.

I’m looking to buy in DC. I’ll check Wells Fargo and other banks. Any other suggestions are welcome!

Go with Caliber Home Loans. I got a loan with DACA without a SINGLE issue.

My advice is to go through a loan officer they’ll work with you. Bought my house a year ago. Went through a loan officer and I told them straight up that I had Daca and said it wouldn’t be a problem that they could find me a bank with a good loan. They did it was a local bank but I still got my home at a good interest rate.

I agree. A mortgage broker/loan officer is the best route. This i had a mortgage guy in NYC that was great with acquiring a loan for me. My loan was with https://www.homebridge.com/ but got sold to another company.

I was just browsing through and came across this... I’ve been working this new job recently and planned on saving to move out and get my own place, I’ve been considering getting a condo but I live in Cali and everything is so darn expensive... my question is to those who own property are any of you worried about TRUMP and what 2020 looks like for us?? Just curious, but this is what that is stopping me from getting a place on my own.
