Has anyone been paying any attention to the anti-sanctuary city bill being considered here in Florida. What does this mean for us here in Florida?

Quote:
American Civil Liberties Union, along with other civil rights and immigrants' rights groups, cautioned immigrants and people of color about traveling to Florida. The travel advisory comes in response to two "anti-sanctuary" bills (SB 168 and HB 527) currently moving through the state Legislature that would require local governments to enforce federal immigration law.

I gotta admit I laughed hard when i read this "would require local governments to enforce federal immigration law". That is highly unconstitutional. Good luck to the rednecks in FL trying to pass this. It will not survive a court challenge and it will only alienate latinos like what happened in Cali back in the day.

This sounds to be the same as the efforts that had happened in Arizona, Alabama, and places like Farmer's Branch, Texas.

The common denominator is they're Republican states and they hate immigrants so they go out of their way to try to make life as hard as possible. Then they defend it by saying they're only against illegals when in reality they go out of their way to limit legal immigration too.

But yes, "democrats are the same".

...and?

All the major cities in Texas are liberal leaning. Austin is pretty hardcore liberal. Houston is pretty liberal too closer to the city and fades out the further you get. San Antonio is pretty much Mexico. Dallas likes to think of itself as the LA of Texas.

As nice as that is however, Texas is very very large and as a whole it's still Republican leaning and the Governor and his ilk have gone out of their way to fight immigration. Thyey have tried punishing sanctuary cities. They killed DAPA/extended DACA, and are the ones suing to get rid of DACA.
