Should the petitioner(girl) put new married last name on forms? We are sending AOS packet right after the wedding so we don’t want to wait to get all the updated documents and waste time. She wants to use my last name on the forms but I am not sure if it will cause ny problems because her US passport, birth certificate, and all other proof will have maiden name. I mean by the time we send the packet the name of change will be in process, by the time we go to interview which I know takes awhile, we should have everything updated to reflect new name. Please advise me as what to do! If we should just put maiden name.
Thank you!

If the petitioner is intending to change her last name then yeah you’ll put her new name in the forms. You don’t change the last name on a birth certificate and you would change the name in the passport as soon as you have the documentation

As long as she did legally change her name when she married you the marriage certificate will reflect the name change and serve as evidence of name change having taken place. Bring that thing just in case, just in case you get some really pain in the ass officer you can take the marriage certificate and be like "Yeah she took my last name, she just didn't update her IDs yet".
