The I-765 instructions still state you need to provide two identical passport style photos.

I can't find where the documentation states you need to also include your last approval notice.

I included both. Why give any reason to the USCIS officer/case reviewer that reviews our packet to return it to you?

According to the instructions for the form i-765, you will need two passport photos and a copy (front and back) of your EAD.

I never sent my approval notice in any of my renewals. You can use your debit and credit card to pay the fee for renewal now. File form G-1450 if you want to do that

Also, you can take your own passport photos with your smartphone camera. I use epassportphoto.com to edit it (click on get my passport photo, scroll all the way down to “free do it yourself”, upload and edit your photo, download it and you can print them if you have photo paper. If not, go to Walmart photo center, upload, click 4x6 photo size, BOOM. 4 passport photos for 25¢ in 1 hour)

I never sent in approval notices, one time I didn't even receive it. I just submitted copies of all my prior EADs.

I also only ever submitted pictures for the very first application and never since, they never use them for anything and they just use the one from your biometrics.
