my workplace is trying to sponsor me for an H1B as a backup. i was told by the law firm that they would have to submit my H1B as consular processing which would mean having to go to the US Consulate in your home country to get a stamp, if I win the H1B lottery. in order to leave the country and be able to come back and not trigger the 10 year ban, there will have to be some form of waiver filed (only works if you have a US citizen relative). will keep this thread posted if I ever have to use this method. However, as far as I know, the chances of this H1B process working out are very low. definitely not easier than your average foreign national who applies for H1B

I-601A can only be used for an immigrant visa, not for H-1B.
