Update: The Supreme Court has now re-listed the pending petitions to consider one or more of the #DACA termination cases for its conference this Thursday. It is posible we would hear results of that conference as early as June 17. But it could also be later.

The long-held DACA cases are on for #SCOTUS' private conference on Thursday. Could be action on Monday

Supreme Court has been sitting on DACA immigration cases concerning Trump's bid to rescind Obama's "dreamers" program for months but they have nwo re-appeared and are set for discussion at this Thursday's private conference (h/t @JoshMBlackman)

It remains unclear why the court has not acted on the DACA cases yet, but this movement suggests (maybe?) the court wants to give itself time to decide what to do before the end of the term. If the court court agrees to hear the cases, it would be decided next term

.@SCOTUS will be discussing the 9th Cir. #DACA case this Thursday, the first time the case has been scheduled for conference since January. We could see a decision on whether or not to take up the case next Monday.

Last week, the court refused to expedite consideration of another DACA appeal. Maybe the government's motion served a purpose in reminding the justices that the other appeals have been gathering dust in the clerk's office since January

Thanks Mods

Sounds like a discussion to see if they would take up the case. If they decide to, they will hear it next term. I'm not sure when the next term is but most likely before the end of the year?

So, next term if they decide to take it up.

So this doesn't really mean anything in the short term then? Just they're discussing whether to take the case next term, which is when? The end of the year?

Yea I’ve read that they could make a ruling sometime between this fall and the middle of next year. Just in time for the election.
