Is there any DACA holders who are teachers here? If so what state are you in, what grade do you teach and did you have any problems getting your state certification.

Hey, I'm an elementary teacher in NYS with bilingual and ENL extensions. I currently teach third grade, there was no problem getting my certifications.

Whats the average pay as teachers? I currently make 6 figures after bonus but lately been thinking about changing career to something more meaningful...

What that a rhetorical question? I think so - teachers are training young minds and future generations. Thinking between teaching and medical field.

Switching to teaching would be easier than medical field (extra schooling). I am struggling with the thought of a major pay cut.

I make about 90k after additional pay from test prep program in the afternoon and Saturdays. You can make close to 6 figures if you do summer school too.

Wow teachers outside of NC make a lot more money than teachers in NC. With their $12 an hour salaries.

Johann Bernoulli, the real one, was a teacher.

I didn't mean it that way I suppose.

What I really wanted to get across is the fact that we are still young.

Teaching is a great thing however I feel like reaching your true potential in your prime years is better.

You can always teach later.

But I guess whatever makes you happy.
