Trump suggests tightening background checks alongside immigration reform

President Trump called Monday for tightening gun background checks in the wake of back-to-back mass shootings that shocked the nation, while also suggesting linking the push to immigration reform.

By immigration reform he means a bill that ends asylum, ends the diversity lottery, funds the wall, ends chain migration... but doesn’t address Dreamers.

Address DACA only and we good

In other words, get ready for more mass shootings. Or as we call them here: Saturdays.

That's what a lot of people on here don't get. To us, immigration reform is to find a legal pathway for dreamers and maybe throw a bone to the other illegals. To Republicans, immigration reform means to make the already miserable existence we have to damn near impossible.

Nothing but political games. Trump will put forwards some lopsided changes to immigration with the intention of putting dems on record saying they don't support this bill and therefore background checks for gun purchases.

Yep. The way to kill a bill these days is to add stuff to it where no one can reach a consensus.
