Hi everyone,

I know its been asked a million times but just making sure

I am taking a flight with my parents (both undocumented). I have DACA
from NYC to Denver.

Should I be concerned at all?

Flight likely making a pitstop in Dallas.
Parents have their passports from home country which is still good/nonexpired.
Please let me know as they have not yet taken any flights domestic

Any bad airlines or anything worthy of mentioning?

Thanks everyone:

Too risky for your parents.

Rent a car and you drive them down there.

Please understand that both options come with risk.

ICE agents are known to wander through the gates randomly checking peoples documents. I've flown maybe 50+ times and I've yet to see this happen, but it does and it's something you should know.

Driving comes with a risk, because DACA recipients have gotten pulled over, albeit mostly near border towns, and were accused of smuggling immigrants.

Please take this into consideration and only you and your parents can decide if the risk is worth it.

To answer your final question about airlines. If you're asking whether any airline proactively looks to turn over questionable people without status, that should not concern you. Once you get past security, you won't be asked to show your ID/Passport at the gate, nor will you be asked to show them when you transfer planes in Dallas.

If you're asking advice on which airline has the best overall customer service, I say go with Delta. Southwest is good also, but they don't have as many flights from the East Coast as they do from the West Coast.

Good luck.

It's legal for them to go. But I wouldn't do it. I'm also not a lawyer. Nobody on the forums is a lawyer.

You are actually asking if they should fly. They can, but they should not. Just take a car.

Just take the flight, it is safer than driving. You don't know where the check points are if you choose the driving route.

If you have an identification document that complies with Real ID (e.g. ID or DL) then you should be ok to fly domestic. Now your parents it is a 50/50 chance that you are taking a risk. It is up to the officers discretion to investigate further on your parents passport (e.g. ID or where is a visa). You can always find someone at the airport that wants to go above and beyond and do something outside of his scope of duties. I would advise to drive. Rent a car and drive the speed limit...you should be ok.
