I got kinda of got a weird situation going on. lets talk hypothetically if the DREAM Act becomes law sometime in 2009. will it be difficult for me to get the
condtional legal status because of my name(s) -first before i continue i've changed my real name(s) in this story to protect my identity from Ice-
well ever since i was brought here to the states at age 2 i've been known
as Juan Lopez my mom filled any school, hospital, government paperwork with that name. but here in michigan for a very long time up until May 2008 illegals were allowed state ids and licenses so in the summer of 2004 i went to the mexican consulate in detroit so that i could get a mexican passport to apply for
a michigan state id/license when i went to the consulate i presented my mexican birth certificate which my full name on their is Juan Jesus Lopez Ramirez
but for some weird reason the mexican consulate shorten it to J Jesus Lopez-Ramirez. so when i went to get my state id/license i was given the id with the
name J Jesus Lopez-Ramirez. well in 2006 i graduated from High School and on my High school diploma it has the name Juan Lopez so basically all my school records have the name Juan Lopez but in the last 5 years i've been officially known as J Jesus Lopez-Ramirez will this present any problems when applying for college of gaining legal status when the Dream act becomes law and if so what should i do currently to prepare myself beforehand.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I'm sure there are many other hispanics who often use their middle name or a nick name. You haven't done anything that resembles an identity fraud, so I think you'll be ok.

I would try to keep it consistent just in case though

you know I was also wondering the same thing.. hahah my birth certificate and all of my original paper work (passport etc.) has my full name.. lets say its "RobertO" (its not).. and my middle name and last.. but when I was enrolled in school k-12 and college somehow the lady or person wrote down "Robert" with out the "O" at the end.. and no middle name.. so ever since ive been a kid ive been know as "Robert" and not "Roberto" I wonder if that will come back and bite me in the butt some day.. hehe yeah i know its kinda retarded but you never know.. hehe
