Fried says as DACA’s fate hangs in limbo, clients are coming to her with fears about losing those protections.

"And then obviously even worse what will happen if they’re not allowed to stay here anymore because the program is canceled?" she said. "These are young adults that have lived in the United States for most of their lives."

It’s also led to hesitation about whether to reapply for the program at all. The USCIS says as of June, only 27% of recipients nationwide filed for renewal for benefits that expire by the end of this month.https://www.wfae.org/post/uncertaint...ons-0#stream/0

Please renew no matter what!

Our forum resident best judge of character, Bad Bunny, would say they are gathering the courage to not renew and consider returning to their home country, lol.

I don’t know why a lot of people haven’t been renewing, but I think everyone should renew anyway. I’m just shocked only 27% have renewed for the people expiring this coming month. That means the majority haven’t renewed.

Yeah, but it’s stupid not to renew. You can still work if you renew and save more money. It gives you more time to figure things out rather abruptly in the coming month when it’s expired. I don’t know what the majority that are expiring in the coming month are thinking.
