I came to the United States when i was 13 with my parents and brother on visitors visas. We are originally from kenya but of indian descent.

My brother had one year of high school left and i had two...so my parents filed for extensions of visas and they got extened another 6 months. in that time my borther was able to apply for a student visa(change of status)....he got IT!!!he graduated a pharmacist this may and now works a 93000 dollar job...he has two part time jobs one pays 55 and the other 65 for an additional 30 hours.

on the other hand my family filed an extension for the third time......we didn't get a reply back this time.....the process got delayed...in that time i graduated from high shcool with a 3.9 and applied for student visa.....paperwork loophole got me an I-20 and into a 4 year Engineering program at UT....student visas got denied and the appeal got denied as well....i got a deportation letter as well.....i feared i would get kicked out of schoool..im now 21...22 in october....my license is expired and i spent the last two years of my life in college in the fear that i woiuld get kicked out and waste the last 70000 dollars worth of tuition and over 30000 dollars worth of living expenses...........and not only that...the money was borrowed ........it was a lot of pressure...im glad that i have a college degree but at the smae time what use is it????...i have a huge dept and im slogging away 85 hrs a week at a restaurant when all my friends are now going to dental and medical schhool or graduate business school. ....worse part is my GPA is highers than theirs....im a founding father of a fraternity and been president of an organization two years in a row...

......i feel depressed and cant stand working in a resturant but at the same time i have a huge debt on my mind 24/7.......but life has to go on....I really hope this dream act falls through....or some kinda of law passes this december.....i need a way out of this life....I cant take it no more

We feel for you.
But having a degree will definitely help you lots when the Dream Act is approved.

Unfortunately, there isn't much that you can do right now to improve your status.
The best thing would be to just hope and pray [if you believe in that] that the Democrats win the elections and fulfill their promise to us.

What's the legal status of your brother right now?

I guess if you have a removal order you can still adjust as long as you didn't get voluntary departure???

please hold on =]

you never know, you could meet a usc and fall in love.

and as for your debt, keep working and spend frugally! before you know it, you will owe less and less.

I'm sorry to hear that. And I'm in the same boat as you. We need to do something NOW but we really have limited choice. So all we can hope for is dream act to be pass. God will be with you.
