White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Friday President Trump wants to see a “legislative fix” to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program after the president suggested a pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients would be included in his forthcoming immigration order.

When asked by a reporter when the immigration order would be coming, McEnany said she had “no guidance” other than to say it would be an executive order focused on “merit-based” immigration, and the president would like to see a "legislative fix" for DACA.

I don't believe anything anyone from this administration says.

So maybe something like this?:

A] A new merit-based pathway to immigration benefits (not sure what that can be via EO) is signed by Trump. Would apply to some DACA folks and other undocumented folks, but would require leaving the US and applying externally (i.e. get in the back of the line AKA a very Republican solution).
B] DACA is rescinded by Trump following the legal pathway as outlined by SCOTUS (i.e. avoiding the arbitrary and capricious method his admin followed initially.
C] Trump then calls on congress to provide a legislative fix for the Dreamers and puts it in their hands.

Checks:
-A very Republican solution by making people seeking either continuing or new benefits leave the country and getting in the back of the line: Check!
-Trump is not seen as giving amnesty to Dreamers: Check!
-Trump gains some Hispanic votes by saying the did something for immigrants: Check!
-Dreamers and other immigrants leave the US and potentially never make it back in because they end up not qualifying or being rejected by the merit based system furthering the republican's White nationalist agenda: Check!

Yet as ridiculous as it sounds Mitt Romney thinks Trump will win. Go figure.

What is true is that only MORONS support a stable genius like him.

Then there wouldn't be a need for a legislative fix for DACA.

I am with you on B & C.

Romney thinks most ppl being polled are minorities and younger people, whom he says won't necessarily vote. Interestingly, Romney in part lost against Obama because there was huge voter turn out among those groups. Romney was wrong. Trump is going to lose in a horrific way.

No they are not. The polling numbers here are consistent and most of them are beyond the statistical margin of error. Meaning Trump is royally screwed at this rate
Republican insiders say the same.
