Hey Y’all,

I’m looking at different options to take in order to get Advance Parole to travel towards the end of 2021. I just started grad school but I want to travel to visit family in my birth country in December. My grandfather passed away 10 years ago and I want to go down to straighten some paperwork and hopefully put it under my name. I was wondering if that would be a valid excuse for AP. Are there any other options that may be valid that isn’t necessarily listed on the “reasons for AP”?

Thanks for the reply. Hmm... I'll still apply, I'll see if I can try to get it for next year if December isn't possible.

Keep your AP application simple, don't add all that inheritance stuff, just say you want to visit his grave.

They will only let you visit if you’re seeing someone. Visiting their grave is nice but not an “emergency” to them.

How safe do you guys think it will be to travel with AP now that DACA has been ruled illegal? I just got approved yesterday for AP ( I applied back in January).

DACA is not illegal. Right now only new applicants are not eligible for DACA. You’ll be fine as long as you’ve been approved.

Even if DACA was to be removed tomorrow the only thing they would do is not accept renewals and AP applications.
