Just came out of meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris
@VP
and she was clear: We have her commitment to fight with all her power to win a path to citizenship through reconciliation. The law has to change to bring justice to immigrants.
Posts From Immigrants & Advocates Who Met with VP Kamala Harris

Today Vice President Kamala Harris met with DACA recipients and immigrant rights advocates to discuss the devastating DACA ruling from Texas last week and why citizenship must happen this year via reconciliation or other means. These champions of the movement had a simple message: immigrant communities cannot wait any longer for change.

The following are some of our favorite posts from the day…

If those “advocates” were UWD, you can kiss goodbye to Dreamer legalization via reconciliation. But but but…don’t worry..we will have an “agreement” to bring up a “stand alone Clean DA” in the near future.

Somehow I don’t think any of these “immigrant leaders” want something to pass. Go take a look at their respective organizations Form 990 and be your own judge. It’s public information. See how much salaries they made. Some of these “directors” are raking in over $100K easy. Do you really think they want something to pass? Their cash flow from donations would go down drastically if we start having solutions.

She no power to help us... our fate is in the hands of congress. Nice photo op though.

Photo op, and I think that the Senate will reach a deal on a bipartisan bill (without immigration), avoiding any vote on reconciliation and leaving us in suspense yet again. That hard date of Wednesday wasn’t so hard after all because seems like another vote to start debate on bipartisan bill will happen on Monday.

I question if the advocates really challenged her on the issue. The people they call are always so diplomatic.

You need to stop worrying about the infrastructure bill. The reconciliation bill is going ahead with or without a bipartisan infrastructure bill - that was always the plan. Biden said it, Pelosi said it, even Manchin agreed with it. 10 Republicans are going to vote for a infrastructure bill because of course the will, they need to bring the bacon back to their states, it would be completely stupid to lock themselves out of funding.

The issue here has always been whether the parliamentarian will agree to allow immigration related subjects onto the reconciliation bill - that’s it. Don’t pay attention to the theater and don’t feed into it.

Here comes another political show again ! Politicians are good actors/actresses . UWD organization can go screw themselves . This organization is the one of the main reasons why the immigration reform bill was not able to be passed in the past 20 years . Anyone really naively think VP has the power to do it ? Her commitment means nothing . Trust me ! Nothing is getting passed .

“My colleagues on both sides should be assured: as majority leader, I have every intention of passing both major infrastructure packages -- the bipartisan infrastructure framework and a budget resolution with reconciliation instructions -- before we leave for the August recess,” Schumer said. “I laid out that precise schedule both publicly and privately and I intend to stick with it.”
