Not sure what's the timeline on this, but...

***

"Senators working to strike an immigration deal see a prospective House border package as an opportunity to advance broader measures, including protections Dreamers"

"If they’re able to send us a package on border issues, then the Senate can add to that" measures for Dreamers, asylum processing & CBP funding and then send it back to the House, Sen. Sinema said during a bipartisan border trip Monday with seven Senate colleagues

Solutions are easily available at hand. Our healthcare system is an absolute disaster right now!!!
1) Legalize, create a program for essential workers - this will cover undocumented who are part of vital safety and economic infrastructure.
2) Pass DREAM Act and create a rolling registry for other who have been here 20-30 years. GOP needs to get over it: after that long, it's cruel to uproot people and is not gonna happen.
3) MODERNIZE the legal visa system. People do want to work here temporarily but not be abused. Allow short-term visas with labor protections.
4) Streamline humanely the asylum pathway.

We can be cynical or take action to help pass actual progress because no one is getting younger and all those issues will still be there tomorrow, whether we reach out to our congress people or not. Might as well reach out.

McCarthy closed the door to the special pathway to citizenship for dreamers. What he did not do was close the door to a non-citizenship dreamers/daca deal because members of his house have bills similar to that.

McCarthy has rejected border security for dreamers, which will not work. Sinema needs to strike a deal with House leadership to bring the bill up for a vote and that may be impossible.

The final deal will be to allow immigrants at the border seeking asylum to be allowed in, in exchange for increased border security. Dreamers will not be included as we are way at the bottom of the priority list. The fact they mention Dreamers in the initial discussions is so that when Republicans complaint, they can remove dreamers and settle for asylum seekers.

Is that your opinion or is there a source?
