Can anyone explain or point in the direction of where we can find more info on this law, like is this all across TX, meaning if your stopped in Houston for whatever reason and you’ve been in the US for 10+yrs, they can just pick you up and deport you themselves?? This is crazy.

A bill that would allow local police to arrest migrants in Texas passed the state’s House of Representatives Thursday.
The bill will now head to the state Senate.
The bill also would make it a criminal offense for someone who is not a U.S. citizen or national to enter the state anywhere besides a lawful port of entry.
It would allow law enforcement officers to return anyone violating that law to the country they came from.
House passage of the bill reflects the hard line the Texas Legislature is taking on immigration as a steady wave of migrants comes to the border.

Good!??? Are you saying your ok with our parents, or younger siblings who didn’t make it and weren’t able to obtain DACA , for them to deported after years, decades is the US??

This law applies to the entire state, not just at the border. Legal analysts are saying that this is worse than the “show me your papers” law that was passed in Arizona, years ago.

I thought there would be more concern from our community for our families in Texas. But to each it’s own.

What do you expect from someone who took DACA renewal funds that were supposed to go to struggling Dreamers facing hardship? No wonder his girlfriend assaulted him, lol.

I don't think that is the case ... The anti-immigrant sentiment is very high right now, exacerbated by what is happening at the border. Fox and the right-wing media has made it their mission to make the border and immigration the focal point of the 2024 election...

This administration's policies and loose enforcement will have serious consequences for daca, dreamers, and all people who have been living here illegally in the near future.

Not Only loose enforcement, but the people allowed in the border are the ones getting free healthcare, housing assistance, food stamps "the handouts", work permits . Made especially worse when everyone is experiencing inflation. All the myths they thought about illegal immigrants in the past are true for the ones being allowed in.

I agree this anti immigrant sentiment is going to hurt immigrants that came to the country looking to work and be productive.
