So after May 7, 2025 we can no longer travel if you're not Real ID compliant. Biden sucks ass and the airline industry will take a hit.

Real ID has been pushed back to 2025, after being pushed back to 2023, after being pushed back to 2020, after being pushed back to 2013, after being pushed back to 2008.

At this point it will likely never be effective. It is law on the books so DHS can't ignore it, but they can play extremely loose with the implementation and keep delaying it until something (like another law or a court order) finally forces them to comply.

What Demise said. Moreover. Don’t all DACA recipients can apply for REALID in all states? This is the case at least in NJ, NYC, CT, and PA.

Aside the states that don't offer Real ID at all like Washington, yes.

All else fails your EAD (I-766) is a Real ID document so even if Real ID finally comes into effect and your license is no good you can still fly on your EAD.

I really hope they push it back again because I need to take a trip right after it is to expire and if I can't do that, it'll make things much tougher for me. I avoid air travel unless I absolutely need to but I hope it never gets fully implemented and at some point congress will rescind it. It's really weird that we have it because it was always the Republicans who were against a national ID card and this pretty much makes it a national ID card since it would be required for flying and the feds keep tabs on it.

Well this obviously does not affect Daca recipients but everyone else who is undocumented. I do hope they push it back indefinitely but I have zero faith in Biden.

Well doesn’t everyone else who doesn’t have DACA have a passports? You are free to travel with an unexpired passport within the United States except for PR and US territories. People have done till this day without repercussions.

What are you talking about? If/when ID compliance takes effect you cannot travel on your passport if you are out status/ without DACA. That's the whole purpose of enacting the program in the first place. It's a national ID. Only Americans, green card holders and Daca recipients will be able to travel.

You are oversimplifying things. What about foreign visitors?

TSA accepts a foreign passport without visa. I've done it many times, and in my experience they did not check anything but the first page.

See full list of accepted documents: https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-...identification
