Long-term undocumented immigrants — and their employers — are feeling left out by Biden administration policies allowing most who just crossed the border to work legally.

"Now groups representing undocumented immigrants and their U.S.-citizen children — as well as their employers — are urging the president to deploy the same broad power to open channels for the more than eight million living in the United States who are barred from legal employment.

“If President Biden can grant work permits to new arrivals, he can do it for people picking our crops, emptying bedpans and cleaning hotel rooms for more than 10 years,” said Rebecca Shi, executive director of the American Business Immigration Coalition, whose 1,400 members include business associations and company executives."

I would be pissed if I missed out of DACA seeing all the people crossing the border and getting immediate work permits. Even me having Daca it’s a little annoying watching them get longer work permits than us.

Well, DACA holders have non-DACA partners and/or parents impacted by this. It's important.

No...this is a Dreamer Forum. Not all Dreamers got DACA because....well, there was no real reason really to put the age limit of 30 on it especially since many current DACA holders are over 30. If I can somehow end my nightmare and get a work permit, WTF do I care if the guy picking my lettuce also gets on? I swear, some Dreamers are worse than MAGA.

Biden's administration created a path for Ukranians to be sponsored - half a million have entered the U.S. in the last two years. Eligible for all sort of social services from the start, including housing and food assistance. The farmworkers who have been working here for 20 years deserve access to the same pathway. Likewise the Dreamers who were left out of DACA (and this actually feels intentional, there is no logical reason to leave the first wave of people who arrived as children out of the legislation).

Same for all other essential workers. The country is in dire need of child care staff, home health care staff, etc.

That is one reason Dems are letting in all the migrants.. They are boosting economic and job numbers.

Immigration is the most disgusting, broken, and arbitrary business in this country.
This shit has hurt my mental health for so long , I can't even cry anymore.

Mofos literally get handed social security cards on a silver platter upon arrival while everybody who's been here working and contributing for a long time get told to fuck off.

I have no words.

I wholeheartedly agree, our parents, and other immigrants groups prior went to the United States with the intention to work, while they want to be handed out everything like the socialist/communist countries

I also think its a missed opportunity for them not to give work permits to people here a long time, they can use their tax contributions to pay the silver platter handouts
