What penalty? People who are married to US citizens were already guaranteed a green card and can adjust without leaving their country. This is bullshit. Biden is literally doing nothing to help the 11million+ undocumented ppl who have been here for years and literally watching everyone else get ahead but hey what's an extra pound of salt on an open wound when you're roadkill.

What are you talking about, DACA folk that have EWI are not guaranteed a green card. Sure your USC spouse can petition for you , but you’re playing Russian roulette that you will not get hit with a 10 year ban or that when you go to your appointment at consulate in home country, you will get denied and now your stuck for real. You can apply for a hardship waiver to be able to stay in the US while petition is process, but no guarantee that it will be approved. For those with EWI on their records, nothing is a guarantee under current immigration laws.

I’m sure this helps people but not that many. Seems like a last ditch effort to say he helped immigrants. At least Obama made a major change with DACA.

Looks like this process surrounds undocumented who have been in the country 10+ years in addition to being the spouse of a US citizen.

One could argue this is respecting/expanding the rights of US citizens, but during an election year it seems to be a way for the administration to publicly push an expansion of family re-unification.
