President-elect Donald Trump has selected South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem as his next secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, according to two people familiar with the selection.

Noem will be tapped to take over the agency as two key immigration hardliners — Stephen Miller and Tom Homan — are slated to serve in senior roles, signaling Trump is serious about his promise to crack down on his immigration pledges. With his selection of Noem, Trump is ensuring a loyalist will head an agency he prioritizes and that is key to his domestic agenda.

I am truly concerned about the direction the Democratic Party is heading in after this election. It is disheartening to see them squander the power they had. Meanwhile, Trump is wasting no time in pushing his agenda forward.

It's moments like these that make me worry about the future of the Democratic Party. They are coming across as weak and ineffective, and it's no wonder they are losing elections. It's time for a change before it's too late.

Dems do not have a good message that appeals to the majority of voters. I do not understand their principles and what they stand for.. The GOP have a simple message for voters, lower taxes, smaller government, and controlled government spending. I cannot name 1 principle that Dems have.

Dems were a bit too focused on the gender issues which I believe alienated many (ie: ones concerned about family values, etc.)

I strongly believe that the issue goes beyond what has been discussed. This is a matter of leadership and their detachment from reality. Biden should have followed through on his promise to step down after his first term and make way for a new generation of leaders, but he did not.

Furthermore, the lack of attention to the immigration issue by both him and Kamala was deeply concerning to Americans in Cities being affected by it. Harris focused on running a "happy" campaign while many Americans were struggling to make ends meet. There is no room for happiness when people are facing hardships.

It was evident from the start that Harris was being set up for failure when Biden endorsed her. Her campaign tactics, such as paying entertainers for endorsements, did not resonate with the American people.

I hold both Obama and Biden accountable for pushing Hillary and Kamala as the only options. This decision ultimately led to the loss of control in every branch of government. It is clear that the Democrats are in need of new leadership that truly represents the needs and concerns of the people.
