Trump is revoking Mayorkas’ last-second extension of TPS, restoring previous expiration dates in April and September.

Now Noem has to make a decision on extension or termination for about half that population by Feb 1 instead of spring 2026.

I know some Venezuelans from back in college. Most of them are good people. Honorary Mexicans in my opinion. It'll always be a hoot though that all other Latinos are always asked if they are Mexicans.

TPS is one of those programs with good intentions but questionable results. On one hand it's provided stability to those seeking refuge, but on the other hand it is a road to nowhere.

All programs should've had an exit strategy. Otherwise it's just limbo. Not that I'm complaining about DACA. Great program. I love it. It's given me so much success.

And not only that, the difficulties of my life have been a motivator to learn and grow my talents. Which is why I say they should make us an official part of the American family. Let's win together. The fees have already been paid, we can reap the 99.8% big wins together. ❤️

Got_DACA is probably already trying to get his bounty hunting license to chase down Venezuelans by offering free arepas by the highway exits.

With a sign that says:
"Arepa Gratis"

Also you guys are imagining bounty hunters as the top of the line hunters, but in reality its a crowd of Dale Gribbles.

The program is very dishonest. It says temporary protected status. What ends up happening like all things involving immigration is that the temporary becomes permanent and that was never the goal.

daca was meant to be temporary until Congress got its act together. Congress never did. Thus, it turned into this 2 year purgatory frankenstein thing.

Congress needs a complete overhaul. They can't get anything done so all these stupid workaround solutions keep happening

i feel sorry because the TPS people were mislead and gaslighted by the Democrats into thinking that somehow they would get to stay.

Less the fault of the programs and more of the fault of an impotent congress. The primary policy to blame is the filibuster for being an unnecessary block to legislation and secondarily monied interests can just buy congressmen at very cheap prices. $2,000 for a member of the house and significantly more for the senator with previous deals lmfao. Oh yeah and thirdly the lobbying system where monied interests can send people to help the overworked senators and house members craft legislation that is favorable to the business. That's always a great way to craft legislation.

Lots of people were gaslit by Democrats. But I think everyone in here is plainly aware of the law. The way around a poorly performing immigration system wasn't to do mass parole for everyone and anyone and their dog but to enforce the law at the border and craft a new system. Yes its a little "hypocrita" to pull up the ladder behind us, but the ladder was/is going to be pulled up someday. In other words we have to prioritize our own benefit first. Can't save the drowning if you drown with them. Technically the ladder was already pulled up recently and we missed the boat from certain perspectives. So much for legalization for all.
