Hi everyone haven’t posted here in a long time. Honestly, I thought this forum wasn’t around anymore. I just wanted to see how everyone is holding up mentally with everything going on.

I had DACA since it first came out, I was almost 30. Before then I had been undocumented since first arriving here at the age of 6. I applied for AP in 2016 right before Trunp’s first term. I started the process to AOS through my daughter in 2022 and a year later was approved for my Permanent Residency. My mother decided to go back to Mexico after being undocumented for 30 plus years and having no path to adjust her status. Thankfully I have been able to go visit her multiple times since then.

Even now that I have legal status I find myself afraid with everything that is going on. I still have two children that depend on me financially. People tell me not to worry that,” I made it.” But at least for me, I can’t let go of all the fear and anxiety that came with being undocumented. Some days I feel free to plan a future here but other times I feel paralyzed. Waiting to wake up and realize that it can all still be taken away.

Anyway hope everyone is doing well and remember to take a break from the news. Our mental health is important.

I think on the contrary that we are all still quite young and in addition skilled labor for the most part. But this is an update that I definitely ask for. Good news is always welcome. Bring more.

Just turned 42 last month and have to say that I feel better than when I was in my 30s. A lot of pretty awesome things have happened in my life. How have you been?

I was a young parent but I am sure there will be more of us AOSing soon. My case and my sister's were fairly easy. Thanks to AP we had a pathway or else we would have been stuck like my parents.

Congratulations on becoming a Permanent Resident. I wouldn't be too concerned about the current President due to the rights you possess.

Still, It is understandable on the fear and anxiety after living here for such a while. Must have been interesting traveling on PR for the first time.
