Forum thread was closed.

I didnt get a chance to give my ideas on it. And you know, I'm very, very disappointed in you dreamers.

Yes, I used to drive without a license. This is the second time I get pulled over. Do I drive safely? Extremely.

The first time, well, look up my old posts. There's a story of what happened the day before, how I was taken advantage of. So I'm sure they're linked.

Second time, a damn fuse blew up on my way home and the tailights werent working. Bad luck.

And another thing, the second time I got pulled over was on June 8th. By law, you get 90 days to show up at the clerks office to pay or request court appearance. This is what happened...

The officer made the 9 (month of septmber) look like a 7, so in the system they put my due date as 7/02/08. Mistake? yes, big mistake.

Now they're shoving a $1,000 fine for not showing up one time. Will I fight it? hell yeah. I can win it.

As for you people who are ashamed of me... Are you a role model? Are you the first one to get the conditinal residency?

I'm not going out smoking pot or commiting robberies. I needed a car to live a normal life. My parents dont give me everything. I still live with them, and I pay rent. I have to pay for my own needs, including school, food, clothes, CAR, and anything else I need. On less than minimum wage... That ironically, my own parents pay me (family owned business). And I have to hear my stepdad saying how hard it is out there and that i'm lucky he hired me. He has has his papers...

So, because of my choice of trying to live a regular life like anybody else here who has residency or citizenship I got into this whole mess.

It has taught me how hard it is for us DREAMers. A valuable lesson that you need to live at some point to understand more where all this frustration I have comes from. The good thing is that this frustration can be redirected into action. Action that I havent seen going on in schools or any other places.

Some might consider me a radical. We need to organize, get off your asses and stop trying to act as a DREAMie role model.

I'm still very disappointed. VERY DISAPPOINTED for closing the thread.

I live in Norwalk, so if you're in the area, or close, come and join me.

I'm a web and graphic designer by hobbie. Let's make zines, flyers, let's get support from our local authorities first. Let's show them how many students we are. Let's get those about to graduate, let them know what's ahead of them.

I came back because I want lots of action.
So we better start taking some action.

Hey, don't be disappointed on all of us because your last thread was closed. I personally don't have anything againts you for driving without a license...I do so every day, but apparently there are some members in DAP that believe we should be ashamed of our behavior. Most people in the last thread were on your side regarding this "driving with out a license" issue.

But again, there are those members that believe that if you drive without a DL, you're a crimminal. They probably think that everyone should take the bus everywhere like they do. Oh, and if you don't believe on what they believe, or act as they think you should act, they will leave nasty stupid comments on your reputation, just look at mine. That's what I get for:

1. openly supporting McCain over Obama
2. not being ashamed of driving without a DL
3. posting a funny fake article about "God Tired of all the whinning in the world"
4. (and my favorite) for posting a funny video about the muppes babies cartoon intro

I still don't understand why the K-Man closed the thread in the first place, but he also closed my "are you racist?" thread only because he though it was stupid and racist when most people that got the chance to read it think the opposite. So I'm not surpriced.

I just wonder for how long this thread will stay open or unedited

kman likes to close threads for no good reason. i dun see other mods close threads like the way he is. we shall call him the 'thread buster' or the 'thread closer'. i bet he will add more red points to my reputation for saying this.

i'm just going to copy and paste my post from the previous thread

I realize that you have to do what you have to do to survive and I deeply feel sorry for Danny that he is forced to drive without a license because i feel his pain. I feel it every time some asshole honks or yells something crude when i'm walking to the train station. But that doesn't mean that I'm going to take a risk getting into a car accident and endanger my life and someone else's by driving without a license. What if Danny got into an accident and killed someone? It would have instantly turned into a regional news and picked up by all the anti-immigration pundits and radio talkshow hosts. For example, this story right here: O'Reilly uses tragedy to attack immigrants
http://rawstory.com/news/2007/OReill...ants_0405.html
here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhwwbNA3hjg

I guess "shame" was a strong word to use on danny but I feel that driving without a license is wrong no matter what the situation is. As 747 pointed out, it's a safety issue and I guess everyone's priority on safety is different. So sorry if i ruffled some feathers by condemning a fellow dreamer for his illegal action. One lawbreaker yelling at another fellow lawbreaker....now that's the real oxymoron.

I yelled at you because i dont want us to attract any more bad press when we are going to have a really good shot at passing this act in 2009. But enough is enough about bitching at each other. We need to put down our petty issues and focus everything on spreading the word about Dream Act.

Danny, i like your idea about the flyers. What about making a website where people can submit their flyers designs? We can maybe even sell shirts, stickers, buttons, w/e using the best designs and raise money for ads in newspapers, online sites, facebook, and etc. What do you think?

Hey juang, I tried to help you out with the reputation thing but you’re so deep in the hole that it’s going to be an uphill battle.

I think K-man does a great job overall in keeping the site free of crap we don’t want to see. His dedication to making DAP a success is obvious. Having said that, I do agree that K-man is a little trigger happy with the closing of threads.

Can we elect juang as mod or is DAP a dictatorship??

k-mart is a very special guy, and if you get on his nerves he'll ban you

Anyway, since I'm the one who suggested to close your last thread, i did it because i cant stand when people call each other criminals in this forum because they are driving without a license, they are the ones who you should be ashamed in the first place for saying such a thing.

danny driving illegally wont matter when ur talking about bad press. we get bad press for just being here. and ur right on the 'enough about bitching at each other'. we should stop bitching on the off topic forum and be like juang, because i think he is very funny and doesnt take things seriously.

p.s. i think we should listen to my ideas for contacting interest groups

Alex, why didn’t you just present your opposing view so that the person can see your reasoning behind your opinion? If the thread is closed the dialog stops. I’m on your side on this and don’t like to see someone being called a criminal for driving but DREAMers have widely varied opinions on a myriad of issues. I think if you don’t agree with someone present your evidence so the person you do not agree with can be suede over to your side.

we suppose to be a team and arguing like total fucktards isnt gonna get us anywhere, specially on this issue about licenses, that's why i suggested K-mart to close that thread.
