I actually have service with AT&T wireless. To get their service I just went in to a store and asked to open a new account. They asked me for a ssn but I gave them my itin. They did a credit check, asked for an ID and that was it.

Some companies let you use your ITIN, I don't know what part of the country you live in but there's regional carriers such as Metro PCS in Florida and they don't require contracts, and it's even cheaper than other companies because you get unlimited text and minutes for a flat rate.

I would also advice you not to sign a contract unless you are 100% sure you can afford it, don't be like me, these damn contracts and bills have ruined my life and I'm only 19.

You can get the tmobile prepaid which is pretty nice... I think same price as the contract without the contract.

Depends the company. Like frbc13 said, in FL, Metro PCS doesn't ask for a SS. In Nevada, Embarq lets you use your ITIN, but they ask for a down payment.

Question...

How do you make credit with your ITIN??...

But isn't a SS required to get a credit card? (excuse my ignorance)

someone knowledgeable correct me on this (rahman or ianus or nick), but in the event that we qualify for a ssn, like with the passage of DREAM, would the history of our itin transfer to this new ssn. or is it like a blank slate.

thanks in advance and sorry for hijacking your thread
Yes, it would most definitely transfer over.
