"U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s meeting yesterday with Latino elected officials was a step in the right direction. She now has to follow up on the commitments she made to convince a long list of leaders, organizations and communities that she will defend the families affected by punitive immigration policies."

"Gillibrand also said she would advocate for ESL funding and the DREAM Act—which would help thousands of undocumented high school students legalize their status."

I guess that ends the potential scare.

Edit: Here is another article:http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/dai...-progress.html

Anyway, I reading through the lines, it seems that NY Latino leaders pushed her especially hard when it came to immigration related to education. It should be interesting to see if something happens when education comes up for debate in the Senate.

Now we need Senator Gregg to take the secretary of commerce position.

She does represent all of New York now, not just upstate New York. I'm glad she came around.

2010 elections is right around the corner, she had to do what she had to do to keep that new well paying and if done right life long job. You see the economy, Just the health care is worth changing her tune on a few things.
