Lawmakers iron out final details of stimulus bill

Negotiators dropped a House provision targeting illegal immigrant workers. The House wanted to require anyone getting a contract paid for with stimulus money to use the government's E-Verify program to ensure employees are citizens or immigrants permitted to work.

Many businesses, civil liberties groups and immigration advocates say E-Verify is a flawed program. Others say the tool is needed to control illegal immigration.

I heard that they took it out because they are going to use it as a bargaining chip later ("let us have CIP, and we'll pass E Verify" type) to pass comprehensive immigration reform.

so i know that E-VERIFY is set to expire soon, March 10th I believe.
do you guys think they will extend this or?
IM not quite sure how that all works .
so it not having been included in the Stimulus package,
what does that mean aside from federally funded new jobs not having
to use E-verify..
im just a bit confused
