Colorado Dream Act mentioned on Fox News!

I just saw Colorado Governor Chirs Romer talk about his support for the Colorado Dream Act on the show "Happening Now" on Fox News at around 12:50 PM ET. Not a lot was said because it only lasted about 3-5 mins. He just said that allowing these students in-state tuition will help the state of Colorado by bringing in money and reducing teen pregnancy and gang violance. He also mentioned that this would not be a burden on tax payers because only about 500 students would benefit from it per year in the state of Colorado. Something that I thought was confusing was that he said the age limit was 13. I guess that means his version of the DREAM ACT is different than the one that was introduced in the senate in 2007.

Colorado state senator Nancy Spence was also on the show to provide a counter argument. She didn't say anything that we haven't already heard before. She said that what Gov. Romer was trying to do was illegal and that these students wouldn't be able to work once they graduated from college.

They didn't mention anything about the federal DREAM ACT being introuduced in Congress in the next few weeks which left me a little disappointed. At least the DREAM ACT is getting national attention again and in Fox News of all places, right?
