Consular ID card

i was wondering if this card would work for clubs,bars, etc... im wondering because i always go to certain places where they really dont check ID. i wanna go in to other places but not sure if they accept this form of ID. i tried it twice. the first time i got rejected by the bartender. the second time i went to a club and the security asked if i had a different form of ID i said no, so he just allowed me to go in. im asking because i dont want to be in line and be embarassed gettin rejected. i live in southern Cali if that even matters
