Simpson believes that the US Immigration system is "badly broken and needs to be fixed at a fundamental level." but..... "I am deeply concerned over proposals that would grant amnesty to illegal aliens in the United States."
On December 8th 2010 Rep. Simpson voted nay on the DREAM Act. In 2004 he voted Yea in support of HR 3722 Undocumented Immigrant Emergency Medical Assistance Bill which stated that hospitals would need to report the status of their patients to DHS before they could receive federal reimbursement for treating them. Mr. Simpson is still a strong supporter of building a fence along the US/Mexican border and increase border security.
