Rep. Michael R. Turner (R-OH)

Congressman Michael Turner unfortunately is against an immigration reform which he calls an amnesty "Securing our borders and stopping illegal immigration is a matter of national security. I look forward to working with my House colleagues on meaningful immigration reforms that will keep Americans safe, protect legal immigration, and provide no amnesty for those who have entered our country illegally"(Tuner). Even though his position towards illegal immigration is defined, I think he would support the Dream Act since in his position he is clearly against people who has crossed the border unlawffully as he calls it, but in reality kids who come to this country illegaly do it because they have no choice but to follow their parents decisions. "I strongly support the rights of immigrants who enter our country through legal channels and abide by the rule of law while here. I do not support amnesty for those who have come here unlawfully. To provide amnesty to those who have knowingly broken our laws is unfair to the millions of immigrants who have followed the rules and come to our nation legally"(Tuner). If we show the importance and the benefits of the dream act, I think we have a chance to gain his support towards our goal "The Dream Act"..
