Firstly and foremost, Zachary "Zack" Space is a "Blue Dog Democrat" from Ohio; this means that he is basically a conservative Democrat. Conservatism does not easily go hand-in-hand with immigration reform.
Space has outright denounced immigration reform according to news sources. He announced any immigration reform bill "DOA", otherwise "dead on arrival". He has never sponsored or cosponsored any immigration reform bill and believes that anything rewarding illegal immigration should be forbidden; he has cosigned bills that reduce benefits for undocumented immigrants. In addition to preventing immigration reform, he also wishes for a crackdown of undocumented immigrants.
It is highly unlikely that Space, a congressman from an agricultural state, will change his stance on immigration reform. He strongly feels that undocumented immigrants are taking jobs away from Ohio residents. Although not all undocumented immigrants work in the agricultural and labor field, there are quite a handful of undocumented immigrants who work in those aforementioned fields for cheap wages. Thus, Space wishes to eliminate their presence in his agriculture-based state of Ohio.
