Also, we need healthcare for everyone.
Fall is not looking good with Covid, Monkeypox, and now Polio, plus the wave of mass disability that long-Covid is creating.

the virtue signaling is strong with this one.

GOP resistance to legalizing us is all about votes. I work with many people from southern and republican states and they don't really care about us being given citizenship and most support it except for the most extreme.

The issue is that the GOP believes that any immigrant legalized will vote Democrat. They will always try to legalize the least amount of people possible, if any, because of this.

I believe in 2025, the GOP will take up immigration again and something will pass the republican senate, house, and WH. I don't think we will like it though. Most likely a 3year renewable work permit for us in exchange for heavy immigration change.

My experience in the South is different than yours. It's more about race than vote.

why arent' dreamers out there protesting and demanding meaningful action?? Warehouse workers risk far mor for an amazon job, yet those with daca and tps sit around feeling like it's too much to ask to continue pushing for change.

Look at the starbucks' organizers!! Each store has a small amount of employees, and just unionized the 200 store. If anyone here is a union member by job, demand that your labor org does not endorse politicians on your name who do not support a legalization program.

lol.....

All the state's hospitals are over capacity due to the recent Covid variants escaping vaccine and natural immunity, patients are sicker, staying inpatient longer and in crisis due to the cost of everything. Oh, we also lost 30% of our healthcare workforce due to the stress of the pandemic. So, yeah, you bet I am virtue signaling, if that is what you want to call it.

That's a good question. I would be out there but I don't have DACA so my life and the lives of other dreamers who do have DACA is quite different because I can't afford to take any sort of list at any protest. If I go to a protest and get picked up by any sort of immigration enforcement that might be there, my life is essentially over because I have zero protection.

People with DACA along with their USC friends are the ones who still have a voice and can protest but everybody's quiet....I guess maybe it's better they don't protest if people start waving Mexican flags like they did in 2005.
