people have very bad attention spans.
if all the media is talking about is stuff that doesn't affect them, while they're coming home with more money and they're seeing their situation improving, what do you think they'll focus on instead? and who do you think they'll attribute this too?
the president obviously, especially in these areas that trump won.

clear the hurdle that is the house, then we can actually get some more progress going.
