Border security, and no sponsorship is fine. E-verify would solve the immigration dilemma by itself. It is just too valuable for a just legalizing 800k people.

What sucks is that now they won't include anyone else. What about younger kids who couldn't apply due to age?

I won't feel bad for those of age who decided not to apply. They are not dreamers, if they were they would have applied. Unless they had financial hardships.

i dont think democrats are willing to compromise e-verify and all of these super tough enforcements which would put a number of the undocumented population at risk just to legalize 800k dreamers.

You must not have parents who are undocumented and small siblings that rely on them. E-verify would make them unable to work. E-verify won't affect us, but it will affect a large number of undocumented immigrants.

CIR would never come. Do you see how difficult it is for Congress to work just on legalizing Dreamers, we are the "best, most qualified" of the undocumented community and even we aren't secure. Republicans would get border security, no sponsorship and if they get e-everify, they would have ZERO incentive for passing CIR.

800K Dreamers would get legalized in exchange for 11 million undocumented.

Again , you guys are freaking out . The White House won’t get everything they want out of any potential deal. Dems and republicans won’t either . So let’s keep on advocating and see what we get .

I don't think anyone here would rather be illegal, but we aren't eager to push for something like e-verify that would destroy and disrupt many in the undocumented community including many of our family member's lives. Not all of us are eager to grab at the first opportunity we get in order to get legalized in exchange for stepping on the rest of the community.

Trump needs a legislative win. He will sign any bill that passes congress.

Aged out DREAMers fought for what is now DACA. Is not fair to them to pass a bill that only includes current DACA holders. What about expired DREAMers due to USCIS fault, younger DREAMers or DREAMers that for any reason were not able to renew.

Guys why are you people all up in arms? Trump doesn’t dictate the contents of a bill. Any bill will be favorable to us dreamers and not only DACA holders .
